Persediaan yaitu sebagai sumber daya (tidak hanya terfokus pada barang) yang menganggur yang menunggu proses selanjutnya berupa kegiatan produksi atau kegiatan pemasaran. Pengelolaan persediaan merupakan salah satu aspek kegiatan yang sangat penting dan permasalahan persediaan sangat rumit, yang melibatkan semua departemen dalam perusahaan dan keterkaitan dengan masalah penggunaan dana. Barang yang disediakan dengan jumlah banyak dan berbagai ragam, mengakibatkan penggunaan dana perusahaan cukup besar dapat mencapai 40 s.d 60 % dari total modal perusahaan.

Umumnya permasalahan yang terjadi pada industri manufaktur dalam menentukan ukuran persediaan, antara lain: permintaan barang yang bervariasi dan jumlahnya tidak pasti, perbedaan waktu pembuatan produk dengan produk lain, perbedaan tingkat pelayanan penyerahan barang, kesalahan dalam administrasi, dan tingkat keberanian pihak pimpinan perusahaan dalam pengambilan keputusan.

Untuk mendukung sistem produksi yang memadai diperlukan tenaga kerja yang handal atau peningkatan keahlian tenaga kerja profesi Manajemen Persediaan.

CAKUPAN MATERI TRAINING TENTANG INVENTORY MANAGEMENT MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY :

1. Konsep dasar menajemen persediaan
* Pengertian, tujuan, kegunaan, faktor yang berpengaruh, usaha dan prinsip manajemen persediaan, klasifikasi barang persediaan, pembagian jenis barang, klasifikasi pareto dan prosedur, biaya pengelolaan barang, harga persediaan, kebutuhan persediaan).

2. Pengendalian persediaan
* Pengendalian persediaan independen (kebutuhan persediaan, spesifikasi sistem persediaan, ongkos total persediaan, model persediaan : EOQ model, EPQ model, model persedian yang mengijinkan kekurangan)
* Pengendalian persediaan dependen (syarat-syarat pendahuluan dan asumsi-asumsi, tujuan MRP, masukan dan keluaran MRP, langkah dasar MRP, tipe sistem MRP

3. Pengadaan barang dan jasa
* Perencanaan dan penentuan kebutuhan barang, pengadaan melalui pembelian, pemeriksaan pesanan dengan sistem sampling, sistem pembayaran, kodifikasi barang dan jasa).

4. Pengendalian spare part
* Dukungan logistik terpadu, perbedaan barang umum dan suku cadang, klasifikasi suku cadang, administrasi suku cadang, pemesanan suku cadang.

SUGENG ISDWIYANUDI, Ir. MT. And Team
was graduated from politeknik universitas brawijaya malang for his diploma in mechanical engineering majoring on mechanical maintenance and repairing, from ITS Surabaya for his bachelor in mechanical engineering majoring on production engineering, and from ITB Bandung for his master program in mechanical engineering majoring on production engineering. Now he is as lecturer at mechanical engineering Politeknik Negeri Bandung(before as poltek ITB). Ir. Sugeng Isdwiyanudi, MT. has followed many trainings/courses to improve his competence. In campus he teachs for some subjects e.g.: industrial metrology, quality control, Instrumentation and measurement, machining technique, production system and quality control, Pneumatics and hydrolics, measurement system, measuremen technique(Metrology of Geometry), mechanics vibration, management of production process, product quality control, statistics application in mechanical engineering, machining process technology, Practice of industrial metrology, pneumatics control system. POLBAN (ADB Loan 1792-INO), director assistant administration and finance SPMU TPSDP POLBAN (ADB Loan 1792-INO), head of production research group POLBAN, head of department mechanical engineering P4D, department secretary of mechanical department P4D, head of Laboratory Pneumatics and Hydrolics P4D.
